Constructivist Climate Change Posters

Considering the progression of a singular moment into a movement I researched the surge in popularity of plant-based meat alternatives. This growth in interest is due in part to increased awareness of climate change as well as increased use of the internet as a primary source for information.

To visualize this research I decide to create constructivist propaganda posters about climate change.
Initially I worked in Illustrator to create the digital collages above. The aesthetics worked but the collages felt too flat. I decided to create physical posters instead.
With these new versions I incorporated a statistic about climate change and added dynamic elements which come off of the paper. I also toyed with the photographic elements by crumpling or cutting them.

The posters are made almost entirely from red, cream, and black eco-friendly Lokta paper. Lokta paper comes from Nepal and is made from a plant which regenerates. I wanted the project to be sustainable, or very close to it, to tie back to the concept. This project was for my graduate course (Technology A) at Pratt.
